Helen and Tamas Kish
Helen Kish began sculpting as a child in the Colorado snow. While her brothers were making snowmen, she endeavored to sculpt the Blessed Mother. Sculpting continued to be her passion throughout school years into college and commercial art school. Predominantly self-taught, Helen was blessed to study with Master Sculptor, Maestro Bruno Lucchesi for two summers in the late 1990's.
She has been married to her beloved husband and long time business partner Tamas for 55 years. While raising their three children, Helen began sculpting little figures which eventually turned into a small home business. She also sculpted and designed collectible figures/dolls which eventually turned into dolls for many commercial companies; such as the Pleasant Company (home of the American Girl doll), the Franklin Mint, San Francisco Music Box Co. and others. Eventually, Helen and Tamas started their own business, Kish & Company, which produced a line of collector dolls annually for several decades.
After returning to the traditional dolls Catholic Faith of her youth, Helen's artistic focus pivoted to religious figures. To date, Helen and Tamas have designed and produced a number of bas relief tiles depicting Saints, with new ones in the works. We have also collaborated in building 'Santos' (dressed half figures) with a steel cage base - see Infanta below). There are a number of figures in various stages of completion in resin in our own studio at this writing; in addition to commissioned work. We are producing finished pieces in resin in our own studio. Additionally, we are returning to having Helen's sculptures cast in bronze. All pieces are by commission only and, by definition and default, strictly limited.
We have added a new section called Eye on Eternity Studio to feature this work.
